Practice Leader, TVOvum
Ed heads up the industry-leading TV Practice at Ovum where his primary responsibilities include setting the research agenda and ensuring the requirements of Ovum’s extensive client base are continually fulfilled. In addition to analyzing how traditional TV will evolve, he focuses on disruptive viewing paradigms enabled by IP distribution and the ever-growing availability of connectable devices. Ed also contributes to adjacent Ovum research programs on issues related to media and entertainment.
Before joining Ovum in early 2014, Ed was head of Digital Media at Strategy Analytics for three years, following a decade at Screen Digest as a senior member of the analyst team covering the media and entertainment industries. He is a regular speaker on the conference circuit and is prized as a commentator on media stories, appearing regularly on TV to discuss a range of issues with CNN, Bloomberg, CNBC, Sky, and the BBC. He is also regularly quoted by practically every English-language business news outlet including The Economist, the FT, BBC News, Variety, Hollywood Reporter, Le Monde, The Times, New York Times, the Guardian, CNET, and Ars Technica as well as numerous trade outlets, and the Daily Mail.
Ed holds an Honors Degree in Modern History from Manchester University.
